192.168.1.1 IP address is a default address for a significant number of Linksys, Netgear, TP-Link and ZyXEL routers. When one of the routers of brands above joins the network, it identifies itself with 192.168.1.1. You cannot assume though that if your router is one of the brands listed above it will have 192.168.1.1 as a default IP address. To make sure you have the right address you need to refer to your router manual and look what IP is used there.
